Oh Good Grief, I Forgot :O
Just realised I hadnt posted today. How late am I!!!!!!! In my defence it is kids bath night (they usually jump in before school or have shower before school but sunday night is always bathnight) and then X-Factor. And its only because I just said no to a snickers that I remembered! How bad am I.
B - frozen berries with cream mashed together - really nice but hurt my teeth
L - cheese salad
T - roast pork, cabbage, tiny bit of parsnip, carrot and gravy
snacks - none
drinks - 3 cups of tea, wkd blue that was in the fridge and I am sick of seeing it so drank it, it is so sweet and am glad its gone (it was given to me by my sister clearing out her alcohol and very grateful I am too especially for the vodka and sheridons :D )
exercise - none
joints - bit clicky but not hurting (not had tomatoes for a few days)
asthma - ok today
Am thinking I may not weigh tomorrow after the weekend of pizza. Will decide in morning.

Oooppsss I did it again..
Ok, so another day with pizza, but it was leftover and I couldnt leave it or chuck it out and no one else would eat it cos I have mine a bit too spicy for everyone else!
B - nothing, forgot to get berries out and was still a bit bloated from last night
L - cheese salad
T - leftover pizza

Drinks - 2 cups of tea and a few beers
Exercise - walking round asda twice??????????????
Joints - ok
Asthma - just took my inhaler but dont feel too bad, just didnt want it to progress into anything

Ooooppppsssss
I have been naughty. Again. Had pizza for tea. Ah well, I didnt eat a whole one and I put it down to not eating lunch. As the hole is fixed I have been trying to get a bit of organisation back to the house so didnt stop for much today.
B - berries with double cream - my new fav breakfast. :D
L - nothing
T - pizza and beer
Snacks - nothing
Drinks - 2 cups of tea and 2 beers :o
Exercise - none again
joints - been ok
Asthma - seems to be ok even after all the dust this morning and pizza this evening
I was trying on some clothes earlier. Work clothes, pre kids stuff. And I still fit 1 jacket and 2 pairs of trousers. I can get on and nearly fit 2 suits, lots of skirts and loads of trousers. :D Hopefully I will be able to get into them again soon. And yes, I know that means no more pizza! lol Well, except for the leftovers tomorrow ;)

A Cheeky Beer Anyone?
Another busy day here, was in a Safeguarding course until 1.30pm, then home to sort a few things then pick up kids then a bit of shopping. So not had time to drink much.
B - almonds (forgot the berries again)
L - ham and cheese salad (i did get the berries out this morning but still frozen by lunch time)
T - mince and veg with salad
Snacks - none
Drinks - 1 cup of tea and 1 beer (naughty)
Exercise - not today
Joints - been fine
Asthma - ok, might reduce my inhaler down and see if still ok
Our floor is finally finished. When I say finished, we still have to buy the underlay and laminate or whatever is going down. But it is safe, no holes for kids to jump in and they fixed the crumbling wall. So alls good! And no more draughts! :D

Want to eat and eat and eat
Hiya
I really want to eat. I am not hungry but I just want to eat. Doesnt help that I have made jam tarts and smartie cookie cake for the kids for snacks and lunch boxes and I ate 1 smartie, I think thats what set me off. Ha, more like I am just a pig and trying to use it as an excuse.
B - nothing, still feeling full of cold and couldnt forse myself to eat
L - ham and cheese salad
T - roast chicken with sausagemeat/sage/onion balls and cabbage with gravy
snacks - none
drinks - 3 cups of tea and 1 pint water
exercise - cleaning
joints - bit clicky but not aching
asthma - ok
I felt like having sugar in my tea today so I had 2 like I used to and had to throw it away. Then I tried 1 and sitll, too sweet so back to no sugar. Maybe tomorrow if I feel like it I will have 1/2 teaspoon?????
I really hope I feel better tomorrow, and it stops raining, the garden is flooded and poor Rex refuses to leave the house for his walk.

Wet and Windy Day
It has been a wet and windy day today. Not very nice at all. And dark. I dont like walking Rex in the dark so need to start planning my day a bit better to take him after the school run. Of course may still need to get up early and put up with the dark on days I work which, at the moment, is only on a Monday.
Weigh in: 10st 5lbs (put on 2lbs - damn that beer! lol)
B - omelette
L - ham and cheese salad
T - gammon with salad (forget to get the chicken out of freezer last night)
Drinks - 2 cups of tea and 1 pint water
Exercise - 20 min walk in rain :(
Joints - not too bad today
Asthma - fine today
So I had a 2lb weight gain. Hopefully it was from the beer/wine and maybe even a bit of bloatedness so hopefully will be gone by Friday. Got a day of mad cleaning to do tomorrow so that should burn more fat. :D

Day 18
It has been a miserable day today, wet and horrible. Was not impressed on my walk this morning. I had to slightly cut the walk short as there was another dog and as my dog has LDS (little dog sydrome) and barks at every other dog it sees I decided to turn around, and it was raining so didnt really need much of an excuse.

Day 17
Not stopped today. Feeling quite tired now. Anyhoo....
B - homemade yoghurt
L - steaklettes with cheese on a bed of salad and baby spinache leaves
T - low carb toad in the hole with 1 carrot and cabbage. I made the toad in the hole by mixing egg and milk for the 'real' one and poured around 50ml into a seperate container, to that I added 3 tablespoons of ground almonds. I put it in fridge and when I got it out it was thick so I added water. I cooked for 20 mins. And here it is.

Whoo Hoo
Well, we had some good news today. 'The hole' in our floor is going to be fixed end of next week. Am so pleased especially as its letting in water and cold due to the brickwork falling apart. So I went and got a bottle of wine to celebrate. Naughty I know, but it is chardonnay so not as bad as a sweet one. :D
B - homemade yogurt
L - bacon, 2 fried eggs, 1 fried tomato and 1 fried large mushroom covered in cheese
T - gammon with huge salad. Too much salad, am totally stuffed now. The cheese is mexicano (got it whoopsied) and very nice.

Day 15
Still not cheating. Just watching hubby eat whatever he wants and drink whatever he wants. But I have stayed strong! Go me!!!! :D

L - leftover pork, cheese and salad
T - mince (mince with tinned toms, celery, onion, pepper) with salad and baby spinache. As you can see I put far too much cheese on.
Snacks - none
Drinks - 2 cups of tea and 3 pints water
Exercise - 35 min brisk walk and running around busy all day
Joints - my thumb has been really aching today, not sure if its all the tomatoes I ate over the weekend or if its because its a bit chilly
Asthma - still fine :D

Cant Beat a Bit of Crackling
Quiet day today, watched the kids and hubby stuff their faces with sweets while we watched a film this afternoon. I did buy some almonds to have but decided that as I wasnt hungry I wouldnt eat them. :D
B - same as yesterday
L - a few dairylea triangles (still full from breakfast again)
T - roast pork with loads of crackling, cabbage, carrot and parsnip with gravy. It is higher carb than I would usually have as I dont have parsnips and only have carrot if it is in the bags of salad I buy. And it was bloody lovely!
Snacks - none
Drinks - 2 cups of tea and 3 pints water
Exercise - none
Joints - fingers a bit clicky today (might try a few days off tomatoes again)
Asthma - been fine today
I woke up stupidly early again at 5am and just dozed on and off until the kids woke up at 8. I am definatly sleeping better (before 5am) and feeling a lot more energic during the day.

And You Call Me Unhealthy.........
As you can see from my posts that I do eat a fair bit of veg and salad. Last night my husband commented that low carb is just not healthy. Uuuurrrmmmmm his normal daily food is cereal for breakfast, cheese sandwich and crisps for lunch and meat, chips and salad (forced to eat it) for tea, then when kids in bed he will eat chocolate and crisps. And I am unhealthy!!!!!!!!! Especially as he said this last night after eating pepperoni pizza so NO veg at all yesterday. So, really, who is the unhealthy one?
Anyway...
B - bacon, fried egg, cherry tomatoes and mushroom with stilton on top. Here is a picture (the egg is black as I used the frying pan after making the kids pancakes this morning)
Snacks - none
Drinks - 2 cups of tea and 2 pints of water
Exercise - none
Joints - aching fingers, wonder if it because I have eaten tomatoes over last few days.
Asthma - been ok today
I had my wine last night and not got a clue what time I went to bed but I was awake at 7.30am so got up. I like getting up early on a weekend as it means I can get to Lidl before their offers sell out! lol
I did have a bit of a wobble last night. Got as far as opening fridge before thinking 'I am not even hungry so why am I looking for food'. I then shut the fridge door and went back to my wine. :D

Confession Time
A confession. I had a glass of wine last night, ok it was 2. And I will be having a glass of wine tonight, ok, will be at least 2! I also havent eaten enough veg today or drank enough water so not the best day but again, not actually cheated (wine doesnt count! lol)
Weigh in - 10st 4lbs (2lbs loss since Monday - whoo hoo)
B - homemade yoghurt
L - ham and cheese
T - omelette pizza topped with tinned toms, cheddar, onion, home grown pepper (sadly not grown by me but I have been given the plant so hopefully I can keep it alive), ham, pepperoni, stilton and mozerella. I love stilton on pizza, makes it really tasty. I took the picture before taking it off the pan today as I knew it would get a bit demolished in the process and i was right.
Snacks - none
Drinks - 3 cups of tea and 1 pint of water
Exercise - 30 minute brisk walk
Joints - fine today
Asthma - thats been ok today as well :D
We ended up watching a film last night so didnt get to bed until 12.30am! I woke up at 5am :o But did go back to sleep, phew. And I have not been tired at all today, still got lots of energy, did have earlier anyway! :P

Day 11
Well, another day down. I havent drank enough water today or eaten enough veg/salad. Just been so busy. But I havent cheated either. Usually when I am this busy I would grab a handful of the kids sweets everytime I pass the fridge but not anymore. :D

Exercise - 30ish min brisk walk in the cold :( Where did summer go?????
Joints - fine today but not eaten tomatoes for a few days until tea today.
Asthma - fine all day but this evening started feeling wheezy. Think all the sorting of dusty stuff has put dust in air. Need to clean the house thoroughly.
Another evening of staying up until 11pm last night. And slept until 5.45am. Getting better. :D
I am planning on walking on the school run next week, which upset the kids a lot but it will mean another 40 mins brisk walking and 1 hour slow walking with the kids! lol

Rain Doesnt Make Me Walk Faster :(
Been a funny day weather wise, lots of bright sunny spells followed by lots of rain. Went for my walk and it was bright sunshine and got to the beach and it started raining. I walked as fast as I could back and got back the same time as yesterday. So I didnt walk any faster in the rain, funny that, you would think I would as I really dont like getting wet! lol
B - homemade yoghurt (this is higher carb than I usually have which is why I have never worked out the actual carbs but didnt effect me before so will see how I go on it)
L - ham and cheese salad
T - toad without the hole, brocolli and green beans
Snacks - none (even resisted the biccys in my meeting this morning :D)
Drinks - 1 cup of tea (no sugar), 4 pints water
Exercise - 35 minute brisk walk
Joints - fingers aching this morning but it was a bit chilly so to be expected
Asthma - fine until I sorted more dusty stuff out
I managed to stay up until 11pm last night and woke up at 5.30am but did manage to get back to sleep so that was good. I think I need to try to go to bed at 11pm and hopefully will sleep until around 6am. Although I could do with a nap now.......................................

Yippee.....
Well its was weigh in day today. And I am very pleased to announce that I did not put on any weight since Friday. I didnt lose any either but I am ok with that. So low carb alcohol as a weekend treat is ok!!!! :D
Weight - 10st 6lbs
Week 1 loss - 3lbs :D :D :D
B - leftover sausage in omelette
L - leftover pork belly and salad
T - roast chicken with brocolli and green beans and gravy
Snacks - none
Drinks - 1 cup of tea (less than 1 teaspoon sugar :D), 5 pints water
Exercise - 30 min brisk walk
Joints - not aching or clicking today
Asthma - bit wheezy but still sorting dusty boxes
Last night was the first Sunday night that I can remember that I have slept. Even going back to when I was a school, I could never sleep on a Sunday night. Firstly the panic from having to go to school, then work, and even now being a SAHM (only occasionally working when I can get the hours) I still cant sleep. But last night I did. :D I felt great on the walk this morning and walked further in the same amount of time. :D Been busy bee today cleaning, sorting stuff, putting stuff in attic and general running around doing stuff, I feel like I have loads of energy. Well, I did earlier, feeling a bit tired now though lol.

Day 7
Well, a whole week without cheating. Last night I think I had too much to drink as I got the munchies big time. Luckily I had these in the fridge that I bought months ago and never ate as I always went for the 'naughty' food.
The only downside was they are hard sweets and I do like chewy sweets. Like Haribo type of thing, so will keep a look out when shopping as I really must keep stuff in for my weaker moments! :D
B - fry up like yesterday
L - cheese salad
T - BBQ food (cooked on grill as it rained!) and salad
Snacks - cheese
Drinks - 1 cup of tea, 3 pints squash and 2 pints water
Exercise - 2 hour slow walk
Asthma - was bad when i got up but improved throughout the day
Joints - bit clicky. Really should actually stop eating tomatoes but I like them!! :(
I even got up at 7.30am this morning and left everyone else in bed to have my fry up. I am feeling so much better on a morning. And I am not getting that tired feeling around 2pm when if I sat down I would be dozing so all's good.

What a Start to the Weekend :D

Day 5
Well, onto day 5 and I am full of energy and feel great. Infact I was sat about earlier itching to do something :o!!! I also decided to weigh today so I can see how the weekend effects me. I do tend to be a bit more relaxed on a weekend and of course there is alcohol, but my sister gave me some vodka which has no carbs so will try to stick to one or two of that :P.
Weigh in - 10 st 6lb (loss of 3lbs YAY!!!! :D :D :D)
B - cheese omelette
L - chicken salad
T - pizza with omelette base and for toppings I had chicken in a homemade bbq sauce, gammon, onions, pepperoni, olives and lots of cheese :D Here is a picture, I couldnt take it as a round pizza as it broke a lot when I tried to take it out the pan.
snacks - none
drinks - 1 cup of tea (1 teaspoon of sugar), 2 pint of water, 3 pints weak squash
Exercise - 30 mins brisk dog walk and running up and down stairs putting yet more washing away.
Joints - Fingers still aching a little
Asthma - No problems :D
So a good day although I am starting to feel a bit bloated now but I have drank a fair bit today. I decided on the omelette base for the pizza because it was the easiest base to do and I had to have pizza as Friday night is film and pizza night here.
Best get back to the film.

Day 4
I am really pleased today. I am eating 3 real meals and not snacking and not wanting to pick at food in the evening. The only problem is that I am constantly bloated from the water I am drinking. I really hope I get rid of this feeling soon.
B - pate omelette (not the best and wont be having again! lol)
L - left over mince lunch from day 2 with cheese sprinkled on top (looks better with cheese on :D)
T - gammon with salad
snacks - none
drinks - 2 huge cups of tea (1 teaspoon of sugar in each - yay), 1 pint of water, 3 pints weak squash
Exercise - 30 mins brisk dog walk and running up and down stairs putting washing away (yes, it counts :P)
Joints - Fingers aching a bit but again not really noticable athough are clicking a bit more than yesterday.
Asthma - Another day of being fine :D
I am still resisting the choccy cake (well, except for licking my fingers when I cut a slice for my son but I am only human!!!). I am sleeping better at the moment, would be good if that lasts as I rarely sleep well. So except for the bloating I am feeling pretty good. :D

Day 3
A lovely sunny day here today. That helps with drinking the water I find. Winter will be hard to keep that one up but I did find some squash today that is meant to be served hot/warm so that might help me along.
B - cheese omelette
L - pate on cucumber (got back late from shopping so didnt have time for much and aldi have cucumber on their super 6 so got 3! :D)
T - leftover chicken in fajita seasoning with salad and leftover cheese coleslaw
snacks - lump of cheese
drinks - 2 cups of tea (1 teaspoon of sugar in each - yay), 4 pints of water
Exercise - 30 mins brisk dog walk.
Joints - fingers a little bit achy but not really noticable most of day
Asthma - been alright all day :D
And I did resist chocolate hobnobs in my meeting this morning :o Although I did struggle with the great big choccy cake that is leftover from yesterday but I have resisted. :D

Day 2
Well I am onto day 2. I should I have pointed out before that I am also doing this on a budget so my food may turn out a bit odd depending on what I have in and when I am going shopping next.
Food
B - ham omelette
L - mince and onion with tinned toms and oxo bolognaise cube (made enough for 2 days and was lovely). I had tinned toms even though I am cutting them out as I have run out of salad. But according to http://thediabetesclub.com/a-treatment-for-arthritis-avoid-nightshade-foods/ (which a very kind person on mse posted after I asked if anyone knew about it for my friend) it says cooking can reduce the effects so hopefully tinned toms should be ok.
T - whilst everyone else ate fake pizza takeaway with sides as its my eldest birthday, I had chicken wings, sausages wrapped in bacon, a few chicken nuggets and cheese coleslaw. So whilst it is higher carb that I am trying to achieve, it is better than eating pizza. I felt I made the right choice so am happy.
Snacks - none
Drinks - 1 cup of tea with sugar (will try without tomorrow) and 4 pints of water.
Exercise - 30 min dog walk and running around all day like a lunatic! lol
Joints - fingers ached this morning
Asthma - felt it this morning but that could be because the fan in the bedroom was on all night so dust around. Not been too bad during the day even though I have been clearing and sorting so dusty.
I am intending to resist the choccy cake I have made for my sons birthday by yet more sorting of stuff this evening or crocheting.
Best get cutting the birthday cake then.

Day 1
I am really pleased with myself today. I didnt think that I would be able to get up at 6.30am after 6 weeks off school. I weighed myself today as well. I would like to lose some weight but as long as I get my asthma and joints in order I can exercise more and lose weight that way if I dont lose any with the actual low carbing.
Day 1 weight - 10st 9lbs :O
Anyway today I have had
B - cheese and ham omelette
L - steaklette with huge salad and cheese on top (steaklette is a square burger that I get from butchers, but I wont be getting them again as they really are not the best but I do have a huge pack so they need to be eaten).
T - roast chicken, cabbage, broccoli, sage and onion sausagemeat (I just mixed a small onion with sage and some sausagemeat. Was lovely. :D) and gravy.
Snacks - none
Drinks - 1 cup of tea with sugar (naughty I know), 2 pints weak squash, 3 pints water
Exercise - 30 minute almost brisk dog walk, running around like a lunatic all day cleaning, shopping and just doing stuff (yes I am including that as exercise as it felt like it at the time lol)
Joints - fingers bit achy today but didnt need to click them first thing (I have cut back on tomatoes for the last week so may be due to that)
Asthma - Felt a bit wheezy first thing and whilst rushing around during the day
Day 1 has been pretty good. Not been tempted even when making a huge choccy birthday cake for my eldest birthday tomorrow. I feel full although I do feel bloated from all the water I have drunk, not used to it these days. I am putting a lot of trust in the butcher that the steaklettes and sausagemeat doesnt have much filler so no carbs. I hope I wont regret that!
I will be getting my crocheting out tonight to keep my hands busy not eating and having an early night as I am absolutly hanging. Maybe a slightly quieter day is in order for tomorrow, like that will ever happen. :D

Why a Low Carb Blog
I have decided to write a blog on my low carbing and how it is making me feel. Last year I discovered that high carb food played havoc with my asthma. Then a month ago I think I found a link between tomatoes and joint pain whilst I was researching nightshade food for a friend of mine. So rather than write my food diary and then forget (like I have done) I am writing a blog which should motivate me to do it and hopefully it will be interesting to read.
Friday morning I was quite bad with my asthma due to a cough I have had and am still suffering a bit from that so will be starting tomorrow as that will have given the steriods a few days to kick in and hopefully I will be feeling alot better.
